(VOVWORLD) -US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen on Wednesday began an official visit to Vietnam, where she will discuss bilateral economic relations and regional issues.
During her three-day stay, the US Treasury Secretary is scheduled to have a working session with the Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam Nguyen Thi Hong and meet with Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue and representatives of many Vietnamese ministries and agencies.
At the meetings, she will discuss with Vietnamese leaders the importance of Vietnam-US economic cooperation and the US commitment to support Vietnam's economy in the new context.
Yellen will also have meetings with economists and businesswomen and participate in talks with women economic leaders organized by the Foreign Trade University.
