(VOVworld) - US President Barack Obama and Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan pledged continued cooperation in the fight against terrorism. In a phone conversation on Tuesday, they reiterated their goals of weakening and eliminating IS.

Obama condemned a recent string of attacks by the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) miliatants against Turkish security forces, and stressed the need for de-escalation.
The two leaders said the fight against terrorism would be among a number of topics on the agenda when US Vice President Joe Biden visits Turkey on Saturday.
