U.S. President Barack Obama on Thursday welcomed British Prime Minister David Cameron to the White House. At a joint press conference, Obama and Cameron reconfirmed their commitment to the timeline and mission in Afghanistan . The two leaders said they share the same view on the situation in Syria , Iran ’s nuclear program, and the global economic recovery. President Obama admitted the recent murder of Afghanis by a US soldier has escalated the tension between the U.S. and Afghanistan , but he also praised what the US and NATO have achieved against Al-Qaeda and the Taliban and confirmed that the US will complete its mission in Afghanistan in 2014. Regarding Syria , President Obama and Prime Minister Cameron both said they are seeking the best way to help Syria , but that arming the opposition could lead to a civil war and cause many more casualties.
