Beijing's top trade envoy Liu He will meet with US Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer and Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin on Thursday, the White House said. Lower-level talks have been underway since last month.
Stephanie Grisham, the White House press secretary and communications director, said that the talks will focus on key areas where the Americans have made far reaching demands since last year: intellectual property rights, the forced transfer of proprietary technologies, agriculture, and enforcement.
US President Donald Trump’s chief economic adviser on Monday said the administration has begun studying US investor protections in China, but that delisting Chinese companies traded on US exchanges “is not on the table.”
