(VOVworld) – On Monday Venezuela recalled its envoy to Washington, Charge d´Affairs Maximilien Arvelaiz, for emergency consultations as soon as US President Barack Obama ordered new sanctions against 7 senior Venezuelan officials. Under the decree, Obama ordered the freezing of the US property and bank accounts of the seven officials including the head of Venezuela’s intelligence service. Diosdado Cabello, head of Venezuela’s National Assembly and Vice Chairman of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), accused the US sanctions of triggering political instability in Venezuela.
