During this period, security is strengthened to keep public order and protect civil constructions. Public transport is limited, and public events are prohibited.

In May, the Parliament established a Committee to draft amendments to the basic laws. The draft law introduces about 200 amendments, including two amendments on the status of the Karakalpakstan region, which propose to remove the provision that Karakalpakstan is a sovereign republic, being part of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and being able to withdraw from Uzbekistan based on the results of a referendum by Karakalpak people.

However, amidst instability in the region, President Mirziyoyev decided not to revise the Constitution regarding the status of Karakalpakstan.
