(VOVworld) – Vietnam will hold a range of activities to mark Day for Agent Orange victims on August 10 and the 53
rd anniversary of the AO/dioxin calamity in Vietnam.

Chairman of the Vietnam Association for Victims of AO/Dioxin, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Rinh, said that the activities would improve the community’s understanding of the aftermath of the defoliant and Vietnam’s efforts to overcome the consequences of the US chemical warfare. He added that the activities would also encourage individuals and organizations to assist the victims, support them in their struggle for justice, and honor particular outstanding individuals.
The Vietnam Association for Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin and the National Humanitarian Portal 1400 are launching a campaign to send sms’s to support to the “Joining hands in easing AO pains” program. Other activities include a special art program, a photo exhibition, and visits to Nam Dinh, Binh Thuan, and Hau Giang province to present gifts to and raise fund for the victims.
