Venezuela gets ready for Hugo Chavez’s inauguration
The Supreme Tribunal of Justice (TSJ) of Venezuela is ready for President Hugo Chavez’s swearing-in for the next 5-year term. Chavez returned to Venezuela on Monday, more than two months after having cancer surgery in Cuba. The TSJ said Monday that it has completed all preparations and now is waiting for an appropriate time and a choice of closed-door or public ceremony, which will be decided by the President and his doctors.

After being reelected President last October, Chavez underwent emergency surgery for cancer in December in Cuba which prevented him from taking office on January 10th as stipulated by the Venezuelan constitution. The TSJ permitted him to postpone the inauguration until his full recovery.
Last week the Venezuelan government published photos of Chavez smiling at his daughters during his treatment. The government denied his opponents’ claims about his health status to demand an early election.
