(VOVworld)- Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro has been granted the power to govern by decree, the so-called Enabling Law, until December 31. The measure was approved Sunday by the National Assembly in an extraordinary meeting after the US President issued new sanctions against Venezuelan officials and called Venezuela a “threat” to US national security. The Enabling Law, which will be effective as soon as it is published in newspaper, allows President Nicolas Maduro to cope with any emergency security threats caused by the US.
