(VOVworld) - The Vietnam Fatherland Front’s (VFF) Religious Consultancy Council met in Hanoi Friday to review its work and map out plan for this year. Delegates discussed the relations between state of law and religions, especially in the renovation process. Deputy Chairman of Vietnam Buddhist Shangha, Venerable Thich Bao Nghiem talked about religious management: “Not any recognized religions in Vietnam are bad. Religion is to serve the people’s interests and I encourage the promotion of religions’ positive impacts on the society, especially the youth. We have faced social evils, marriage and children violence. This could be solved by the promotion of ethical tradition and fine value of culture.”

The Council will fine-tune policies and regulations regarding religions this year in connection with the 1992 Constitution to promote the role of religions in healthcare, education and humanitarian activities.
