(VOVworld)- The President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Nguyen Thien Nhan on Saturday visited Son Dong craft village in Hoai Duc district on the outskirts of Hanoi. Speaking to local authorities and residents, Mr. Nhan urged them to find ways to promote local craft. He stressed the need to diversify access to capital resources and types of products, promote local trademarks and address environmental problems. He suggested Hanoi authority organize annual festival of craft villages to help craftsmen promote their product and share their experiences.

On Sunday, President Nhan visited craft villages in Nam Dinh province to study local strength and problems in enhancing local crafts. He stressed the importance of setting up cooperatives to help craftsmen access capital, introduce their products and promote their trade marks. Nhan’s visit to craft villages is part of the preparation for the workshop on the current situation of Vietnamese craft villages to be held on Monday.
