Can Tho Bridge seen from the South Can Tho Residential Area

(VOVworld) - Vietnam Fatherland Front President Huynh Dam has underscored the importance of the Southwestern region steering committee for the development of provinces in the Mekong River Delta. At yesterday’s meeting with the Committee and Can Tho authorities, Dam asked the Committee in line with the provincial Fatherland Fronts to focus on consolidating and bringing into full play the national solidarity, diversifying forms to gather local people to develop the friendship relations with the neighboring country of Cambodia.  He said the Committee should also promote patriotism movements amongst residents in response to campaigns to unite people to build a cultural lifestyle in residential areas and to help the poor.

While working with Can Tho Party’s Committee and People’s Committee, President Dam called for more efforts to take care of rights and living conditions of ethnic and religious people and closely coordinate with the Fatherland Front to improve patriotism movements towards completing the city’s socio-economic development targets.
