(VOVworld)-Vice President Nguyen Thi Doan has led a Vietnamese delegation to participate at the Global Summit of Women in Athens, Greece.

Speaking at the opening session on Thursday, the Vice President confirmed the role played by women in all aspects including political, socio-economic and family issues. She said that women have contributed more to global economic growth and the settlement of major regional and world problems. She urged delegates to initiate measures to promote the women’s participation in economic development, leadership, world peace and the application of new technology. She also emphasized on Vietnam’s policy to empower women in state management, business performance and family happiness for national development. The summit gathered nearly 800 female leaders from 70 countries.
