Vice President of Japanese National Institute for Defence Studies visits Vietnam
(VOVworld)- Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army , Lieut. Gen. Vo Van Tuan on Monday met with Maj. Gen. Naohisa Fukase, visiting Vice President of the Japanese National Institute for Defence Studies. Tuan highlighted the strong development of friendship between Vietnam and Japan over the past 40 years. Maj. Gen. Fukase congratulated Vietnam’s official participation in the UN peacekeeping force. In regard to the East Sea issue, Maj. Gen. Naohisa Fukase expressed his concern over China’s illegal placement of its oil rig Haiyang – 981 in Vietnam’s waters. He said he hoped that Vietnam and Japan would continue to denounce China’s wrongful acts by diplomatic means in line with international law.
