(VOVWORLD) - Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh on Tuesday led a delegation of the National Assembly Standing Committee and the National Election Council to Soc Trang to oversee the province’s preparations for the upcoming election of deputies to the 15th National Assembly and representatives to People’s Councils for the 2021-2026 tenure.

Vice President Thinh asked Soc Trang province to select qualified candidates, ensure that candidates include young, female, and ethnic people, and hold meetings between candidates and voters.
She said security before, during, and after the elections and protection against the Covid-19 pandemic must be ensured.
On this occasion, the Vice President presented gifts worth 8,600 USD to disadvantaged children in Soc Trang province.
