Professor Dr Nguyen Quang Nghia, director of Organ Transplant Coordination Centre, said the 100th organ donation took place on March 7th, where the brain-dead patient donated the most tissues and organs ever, including heart, liver, two kidneys, four blood vessels, 14 tendons, two cartilages and four nerves.
From this organ donor, the hospital has successfully conducted four organ transplants for four patients.
This marks a new step for the Viet Duc Hospital as an achievement in the national organ transplant industry. The four patients are in good health after receiving their transplants.
