At a meeting with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi on Wednesday in Laos, Deputy PM Minh urged China to facilitate Vietnamese exports, particularly agri-products, to the Chinese market and pay more attention to solving problems in cooperation projects. Mr. Minh said Vietnam will continue to coordinate with China and other countries to find measures to maintain peace and stability in the East Sea and facilitate negotiations on a Code of Conduct in the East Sea (COC) in line with international law.

Mr. Wang said China is ready to import more Vietnamese goods and will work jointly to solve existing problems in their bilateral cooperation projects.

On the same day, Deputy PM Minh had a meeting with Lao Foreign Minister Saleumsay Kommasith. Both leaders praised recent diplomatic activities between Laos and Vietnam, agreed to intensify the implementation of the foreign ministries’ cooperation agreement for 2014-2020, and maintain close cooperation in regional and international forums, particularly this year, when Vietnam is ASEAN Chair and a Non-Permanent Member of the UN Security Council, while Laos is hosting for many important Mekong Sub-regional mechanisms and is a coordinator for ASEAN-US relations.
