Vietnam Airlines increase flights to Jakarta to serve football fans
(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam Airlines will open two direct flights from Hanoi to Jakarta, and add one return flight between Ho Chi Minh City and Jakarta to meet the increasing demand of fans who want to support the Vietnamese men’s football Olympic team in their quarterfinal match against Syria at the ongoing Asian Games (ASIAD 18). This will bring the total number of flights from Vietnam to Jakarta next Monday to four, all using Airbus A321 aircraft.
The direct flights from Hanoi to Jakarta are expected to depart at 9:50am Monday, with an estimated flight time of more than 4 hours. The Jakarta-Hanoi flights will depart at 0:20am (local time) next Tuesday and land at Noi Bai International airport at 4:50am. The additional flights from HCM City to Jakarta will leave at 11:20am on Monday and return to HCM City at 0:30am (local time) on Tuesday.
Vietnam Airlines will coordinate with travel companies in Hanoi, Da Nang, and HCM City to design a special tourism program next Monday to serve football fans. The package tours will include a round-trip ticket, a ticket for the quarterfinal match, tour guides, and fees for food, drinks.
Earlier of this year, Vietnamese fans witnessed the heroic achievements of Vietnam’s U23s in the AFC Cup, under the guidance of head coach Park Hang-seo. At the ongoing ASIAD 18, the Vietnamese men’s football Olympic team beat Bahrain during the final stages of the 16 round elimination ladder, to secure their quarterfinal position.
