Both agreed to promote bilateral strategic partnership and exchanges at all levels. They will promote national defense and security, science and technology, educational and cultural cooperation. They agreed on the gravity of peace, stability, maritime and aerial safety in the East Sea. Prime Minister Modi said India supports just interests and rights of counties in the East Sea while settling conflicts by peaceful means based on international law. They witnessed the signing of several cooperative agreements on culture, radio broadcasting between VOV and All India Radio, oil and gas between Indian counterparts and Petro Vietnam.

Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung:“We agreed on our common goal of raising bilateral trade revenue to 15 billion dollars by 2020. We will facilitate business cooperation in oil and gas, energy, infrastructure, information technology and agricultural production, especially joining in the Indian program on made in India products”
