(VOVworld) – The three-day India’s NorthEast-ASEAN Business Summit was held for the first time in Imphal, the capital city of India’s northeastern state of Manipur.

Addressing the function, Vietnamese Ambassador to India Ton Sinh Thanh said Vietnam always welcomes and supports India’s Look East Policy. He underlined the need to boost the implementation of projects to connect roads, railways, waterway, and airway between India’s northeastern region and ASEAN to facilitate trade exchange at border gates.

Ambassador Thanh expressed his belief that if more preferential policies are promulgated, the Indian northeastern region will attract more investment from Indian enterprises and those from ASEAN including Vietnam.
