Vietnam calls for investment from Indian garment and textile businesses
(VOVworld) – A conference to promote investment by north India’s garment and textile businesses was held in Punjab state this week.
The event was part of trade promotion activities organized by the Vietnamese embassy in India and India’s Eximbank with a view of promoting Indian investments in garments and textiles in Vietnam. In his address, Vietnamese ambassador Ton Sinh Thanh highlighted Vietnam’s opportunities created by the TPP, saying that through Vietnam, Indian garment and textile companies can export their products to major world markets such as the US and Japan with tariffs at zero%. The Indian government has offered 300 million USD as preferential credit for Indian garment and textile investment projects in Vietnam in 10 years.
