Ms. Ngan spoke highly of the Australian Senate delegation’s visit, saying it will help enhance the Vietnam-Australia relationship.

“The two countries need to increase delegation exchanges at all levels, and accelerate the implementation of an MoU on cooperation between the two legislative bodies signed in 2013, as well as agreements reached during recent visits by leaders of the two countries. It is essential to boost exchanges between parliamentary groups to foster mutual understanding and cooperation in various fields,” she said.

Two-way trade turnover has increased by 7 percent every year, reaching nearly 6.5 billion in 2017 and more than 5.7 billion USD in the first 9 months of last year. Australia now has nearly 430 projects operating in Vietnam with the total investment capital of 1.9 billion USD.

Senate President Ryan said Australia will continue to support Vietnam in terms of sustainable economic growth and human resource development.
