Vietnamese Minister of Industry and Trade Vu Huy Hoang said the TPP will play a crucial role in trade relations between Vietnam and Australia as it will supplement the ASEAN-Australia-New Zealand Free Trade Agreement (AANZFTA) and open doors for Vietnamese products to enter those two markets.
Hoang said that within the TPP framework, bilateral cooperation will be expanded. He cited mining, oil, gas, coal, and services as Australia’s spearhead sectors, while Vietnam has potential in garments-textiles, footwear, farm produce and seafood. At the forum, businesses discussed the domestic and foreign investment climate, investment experience, and opportunities in each country.
The Vietnamese delegation is scheduled to visit New Zealand on February 2.
