Vietnam, Australia strengthen economic ties
(VOVWORLD) - Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc on Thursday talked on the phone with Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison about bilateral ties and regional and global issues of mutual concern.

The two Prime Ministers affirmed that bilateral friendship and mutual understanding and trust are the strong motivation to boost bilateral ties. They agreed to work closely to further enhance the ASEAN-Australia Strategic Partnership and boost bilateral economic ties. The two agreed to strengthen cooperation at regional and global forums. Australia promised to help Vietnam access safe and effective vaccines. Both stressed the importance of enhancing cooperation, maintaining peace, stability, security, safety, and freedom of navigation and aviation, ensuring legitimate rights and interests as stipulated at the 1982 UN Convention on the Law of the Sea (1982 UNCLOS), settling disputes by peaceful means in line with international law including 1982 UNCLOS, fully and effectively implementing the Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the East Sea, and soon finalizing the Code of Conduct.
