(VNA) - Vietnam and Bangladesh issued a joint communiqué on Sunday at the end of a three-day official visit to Vietnam by Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

The communiqué reaffirmed a determination to strengthen bilateral cooperation in politics, security, national defense, economics, and information and communications. The two agreed to organize a second Meeting of the Vietnam-Bangladesh Joint Commission and a Political Consultation between the two Ministries of Foreign Affairs to set out directions for bilateral cooperation in the coming years. The two sides will step up cooperation in security and defense through exchanging delegations at all levels, exchanging experiences on participation in UN Peacekeeping Operations, and co-operating in the fight against transnational crimes and human trafficking.
