(VOVWORLD) -In January, Vietnam rose to Singapore's 10th largest trade partner, with a two-way trade value of more than 2.9 billion SGD (about 2.1 billion USD), up 18%, said the Vietnam Trade Office in Singapore.

Import-export turnover between Singapore and most of its major partners recovered and grew last month, according to the Office. Vietnam is Singapore's 8th export market with a turnover of 2.23 billion SGD (1.66 billion USD), up 15%. Vietnam is Singapore's 17th largest import partner.
Most of Vietnam’s export staples have been growing strongly, of which iron and steel jumped more than 30-fold.
The Vietnam Trade Office said it will continue to update the situation, mechanisms and policies, support Vietnamese businesses to connect trade and export their goods to the Singapore market as well as support Singaporean business delegations to Vietnam to find sources of goods and promote industrial, commercial and service investment in Vietnam.
