Vietnamese Ambassador to Bulgaria Le Duc Luu made the remarks in an interview with VOV reporters before Bulgarian President Rosen Pleneliev’s visit to Vietnam next week. He added that bilateral economic cooperation between the two countries remains very modest and far from both sides’ expectations. Ambassador Luu said: "I think that it’s very important for both sides to devise joint projects, especially in agriculture, industry, and transportation, to create breakthroughs in bilateral economic, trade and investment cooperation while making full use of support from EU funds. Bulgaria is willing to support Vietnam in human resource development, education and training, science and technology, as well as management capacity. Another important task for the coming years is to seek ways to boost investment and exports between the two countries. To do this, both sides need to implement a number of comprehensive measures such as completing mechanisms and policies, remove administrative barriers, and improve the efficiency of trade and investment promotion programs."
The Ambassador reiterated that Bulgaria and Vietnam want to lift their political relationship to strategic partnership. Both sides will continue high-level political dialogue to enhance cooperation, promote information sharing and coordination in both regional  and international issues of mutual concern.
