Vietnam, Bulgaria boost comprehensive ties
(VOVworld)- Vietnam attaches a great deal of importance to developing its traditional relationship and cooperation with Bulgaria. National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung stated this on Monday during talks with his visiting Bulgaria counterpart Tsetska Tsacheva in Hanoi. He said he believed that Ms Tsacheva’s visit will create a breakthrough in bilateral relations. Mr. Hung said: "We welcome you and your delegation to Vietnam. Thank you for your friendship and warm feelings for Vietnam in the past. We believe that this visit will give us both the impetus to boost ties, not only between the two legislative bodies, but also that between the two countries and peoples."

Both sides said they will maintain the exchange of senior level delegations to share their experiences in legislation and supervision. This will enhance cooperation between the two countries in every field, especially in healthcare, education, and clean energy. After the talks, Mr. Hung and Ms. Tsachev signed of a memorandum of understanding on strengthening ties between the two NAs, which is a legal basis for developing legislative cooperation. They both proposed more consultations between the two governments at international organizations such as the UN, WTO, as well as with UN’s relationship with the European Union, and between the Asian European meeting with Vietnam. They also witnessed the signing of agreements between Vietnam’s Ministry of National Defence and Bulgaria’s State Commission on Information Security, as well as between Vietnam’s Ministry of Education and Training and Bulgaria’s Ministry of Education, Youth and Sciences.
Later the same day, Chairwoman Tsacheva met with Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung. Mr. Dung highly praised the outcomes of talks between Ms. Tsacheva and National Assembly chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung. He reiterated that Vietnam attaches a great deal of importance to improving its cooperative ties with Bulgaria. He suggested that both countries expand cooperation in education, science and technology, tourism, and culture. He said he hoped that Bulgaria maintains and increases its ODA for Vietnam, and cooperation with other EU countries. PM Dung and Mrs Tsacheva underlined the need to support each other at international and regional forums and promote the exchange of visits by delegations at all levels to strengthen ties, solidarity, cooperation, and mutual understanding between the two nations.
