(VOVworld) - President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee Nguyen Thien Nhan has reiterated that Singapore is one of Vietnam’s strategic partners in Asia.

At a reception in Hanoi on Wednesday for Singaporean Foreign Minister Vivian Balakrishnan, Nhan said Vietnam always pays special attention to Singapore’s development and high-ranking visits by senior state leaders of both countries have consolidated cooperative ties.

Nhan said Singapore’s development provides valuable lessons for Vietnam and he hopes Singapore will share its experience with Vietnam and work with Vietnam in building a smart city.

He noted Singapore will cooperate with Vietnam in improving network safety, training human resources for the IT sector, and developing e-government.

Minister Balakrishnan said Singapore attaches importance to boosting cooperative relations with Vietnam in all areas including investment, trade, training, education, and tourism.
