“Israel should stop destroying and seizing Palestinian property and complete its duties in accordance with international law and relevant UN resolutions, including UN Security Council Resolution 2334,” said Ambassador Dang Dinh Quy, head of the Vietnamese permanent mission to the UN, at a working session on the Middle East situation on Tuesday. Quy voiced concern about the problems currently facing Palestinians, and called on the international community to help them to overcome these problems. He praised initiatives and measures that move toward a comprehensive, sustainable, and fair solution to the Palestinian issue. He reiterated Vietnam’s consistent support for a two-state solution.

Meeting participants condemned Israel’s expansion of settlement areas and destruction of Palestinian houses in the occupied territory, violating Resolution 2334. They condemned past violence and urged both sides to refrain from violent, unilateral actions that only complicate the situation.
