Vietnam, China boost trade, investment cooperation
(VOVWORLD) - China is currently Vietnam’s biggest trade partner, while Vietnam is China’s largest trade partner in ASEAN, said Vo Tan Thanh, Director of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Ho Chi Minh city Wednesday during a conference on Vietnam-China trade cooperation.

Two-way trade totaled 93.6 billion USD in last year, Mr. Thanh said, adding that Chinese firms are increasing investment in textile and mining.
Wen Xi Chen, Economic Counselor of the Chinese Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City, encouraged Vietnamese companies to take advantage of China’s demand for marine and agricultural products and to boost exports of highly competitive goods. Mr. Wen said China and Vietnam can increase mineral, financial, and tourism cooperation, where China leads in technology and management while Vietnam has advantages of labor and resources.
