Vietnam chosen first destination for peace activities in Asia
(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam has been chosen as the first destination for peace activities in Asia, as it has an increasingly important voice in the region, said Jean Pierre Raffarin, France’s former Prime Minister and President of the World Peace Organization.

He told the “Environment and Peace” conference in Hanoi on Tuesday, part of the 5th Mobile Forum for Peace that his organization wants to raise awareness on climate change. Mr. Raffarin said Mekong River protection is one of the main issues of the Forum. He said the events will stress the importance of the river and ecological diversity. According to experts, without protection, the river may disappear in a century.
The Forum underscores the role of young people in promoting world peace.
