Vietnam commits to green growth
(VOVworld)- The Ministry of Planning and Investment yesterday announced a national action plan on green growth, focusing on reducing greenhouse gas emissions and increasing the use of clean and renewable energy. Deputy Minister Nguyen The Phuong said that green growth is an important goal in the country’s industrialization and modernization, and the world’s common development tendency in the 21st century with international cooperation and commitments to ensuring sustainable development through green production, environmental protection and energy conservation. Phuong said that Vietnam always treasures contributions by its foreign partners like the World Bank, the US Agency for International Development, Belgium and the Republic of Korea to the working out of country’s strategy and plan on the issue. Phuong urged businesses to apply environment-friendly technologies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions saying that they are a decisive factor in the country’s green growth strategy.
