Vietnam considers Myanmar a top partner: State President
(VOVworld)-Myanmar is always a top partner in Vietnam’s foreign policy, said President Tran Dai Quang at a reception for Commander-in-Chief of the Myanmar Armed Forces Min Aung Hlaing in Hanoi on Monday.

Mr. Quang urged leaders of the 2 militaries to work out effective measures to implement defense cooperation agreements. He affirmed that the Vietnamese State and Government consistently support and create the best conditions for growing cooperation between the 2 armies. Commander-in-Chief Hlaing said that the 2 militaries have agreed to strengthen cooperation in medicine, logistics, and the fight against smuggling and crime.

Receiving Commander-in-Chief Hlaing, National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan asked the 2 militaries to increase the exchange of visits and cooperation in training, medicine, logistics and the defense industry. Mr. Hlaing stressed that defense ties as well as cooperation between the 2 National Assemblies are very important for Vietnam and Myanmar.
