Vietnam continues to open its economy to fully integrate into global economy
(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam will continue to open its economy and integrate into the global economy, Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung on said Tuesday during a working session with the US-ASEAN Business Council (USABC) and representatives from 50 US firms operating in Vietnam.

The session was led by Regional Managing Director of the USABC Michael Michalak, who used to be the US Ambassador to Vietnam.
Minister Dung said Vietnam will continue to promote three strategic orientations in institutions, infrastructure, and human resources, improve economic reform and the quality and competitiveness of the economy, and consider domestic and FDI enterprises the main growth drivers.
Michalak said Vietnam will remain an attractive destination for US investors and that US firms appreciate the Vietnamese government’s efforts to streamline administrative procedures and improve the investment environment, and have pledged to expand their operations in Vietnam.
According to the Foreign Investment Agency, as of February the US ranked 11th among 140 countries and territories invested in Vietnam, with more than 1,100 projects worth over 10.3 billion USD.
