Vietnam contributes to the success of COP-20
(VOVworld) – Vietnam has actively participated in building a 2015 agreement on response to climate change and other contents at the just concluded 20th conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP20) in Lima, Peru.

At a press conference to review the conference in Hanoi on Wednesday, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment said Vietnam presented its first biennial update report (BUR) summarizing Vietnam’s activities together with the world community to deal with global climate change. Vietnam is the second developing country to submit the BUR. Pham Van Tan, Deputy Head of the Department of Hydrology, Meteorology and Climate Change, and Vietnam’s deputy chief negotiator on climate change, said: “Vietnam participated in all important discussions and Vietnam’s contributions to the conference’s draft documents have been recognized internationally. The head of Vietnam’s delegation made a significant speech focusing on Vietnam’s efforts in responding to climate change and calling on the world community to join hands to deal with global climate change”.
