(VOVworld) - The Viet Nam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP) has protested the final decision of the US Department of Commerce (DOC) to impose a new tax rate ten times higher than the previous one on Vietnamese frozen tra fish fillets.

In a recent press release, VASEP said it will take legal steps to protect Vietnam’s tra fish industry, while asking the DOC to amend its decision of the 8^th administrative review in compliance with US law and agreements of the World Trade Organization. In the meantime, Vietnamese exporters are considering shifting their markets to Europe, Russia, Australia, South America, and Africa.
