The Euro.cz website of the Czech Republic highlighted the importance of the scheduled meeting between President Milos and President Tran Dai Quang. According to the website, Czech wants Vietnam to exempt tourist visas for the Czech people and open a direct flight between Hanoi and Prague to boost bilateral trade and tourism.
According to Czech media, bilateral cooperation in economic and trade has not been in par with the two countries’ potential. By mid 2016, Czech investment in Vietnam was 170 million USD ranking 40th among 150 countries and territories investing in Vietnam. Two-way trade reached only 800 million USD.
