(VOVworld) - Traditional political and economic ties and future cooperation prospects between Vietnam and the Czech Republic were under review at a conference in Prague on Monday.
The conference, titled ‘Vietnam, its glorious history and development prospects in international integration’, was organised by the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Parliament in collaboration with the Vietnamese Embassy to mark the 40th anniversary of the liberation of southern Vietnam and Vietnam’s national reunification.
Hoang Binh Quan, Head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for External Relations, said Vietnam’s achievements over the past 30 years of reform are clear evidence of the country’s right direction and an important economic and social foundation for building and protecting a socialist Vietnam.
During his visit, Quan attended working sessions with Vojtech Filip, Vice President of the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Parliament.
Filip, who is also President of the Czech-Morava Communist Party, said the Czech government and the Czech-Morava Communist Party always try to help Vietnamese living in the Czech Republic to integrate into their host country.
Filip said that the two countries have great cooperation potential in energy, public transportation, machinery, equipment, and technology transfer in agriculture processing.
He expressed his support for Vietnam’s stance in handling disputes in the East Sea through international forums and through diplomatic solutions based on mutual respect and equality.
