(VOVWORLD) - President Nguyen Xuan Phuc on Tuesday met in New York with leaders of US companies who want to increase investment activities in Vietnam.

The companies included GE Corporation, CFM International, AviaWorld LCC, Cantor, Fitzgerald, Weidner Asset Management Steelman Partners, Delong, Valero, AGP and UPC Corporation.
The President affirmed Vietnam attaches importance to and wishes to jointly develop the Comprehensive Partnership with the US, assuring that Vietnam is determined to push comprehensive economic reform and business environment reform for foreign enterprises to expand their operations in the country.
He acknowledged the investment, cooperation and experience sharing activities of US businesses, especially AviaWorld and GE, who have made important contributions to Vietnam's economic growth and its aviation industry in particular.

At the end of the meeting, President Phuc witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding on selection and maintenance of GEnx engines between Bamboo Airways and GE Group and an Agreement to announce Vietnam-US direct flights between Bamboo Airways and AviaRep.
