The Minister emphasised that the mission of the National Education Development Strategic Plan is to guide the direction, objectives and targets for the education sector and highlights reforms that are needed for the education sector to develop high quality human resources in achieving its development objectives. Mr. Nha said: “In the strategic plan for the next 10 years, we need to position the educational sector and its responsibilities. We are not afraid of moving too fast to too slowly but we have to join the world trends. Our Education Development Strategic Plan has to be placed in the context of global citizen education given fierce competition in tertiary and vocational education towards cross-country knowledge transfer.”
When being asked to share experience during the working session, Dr. Dominique Altner of the UNESCO Institute of Educational Strategies praised Vietnam’s equality in education as it branding which is a challenge to preserve. Commenting on the set of indicators in the draft of Vietnam's educational strategy framework, she said that it reflects a summary of the current and new indicators and is in line with the standard international set of indicators.
