Ambassador Nguyen Huy Dung said Vietnam and Egypt are working together to soon lift bilateral trade to 1 billion USD, noting that the 2 countries have huge potential for stronger cooperation in various areas, such as electrical industry, textile-garment, logistics, agriculture, and tourism.
Participating Egyptian enterprises said there are a lot of opportunities for Vietnamese goods to penetrate the Egyptian market of more than 100 million people, as well as the African market.
President of the Alexandria Chamber of Commerce Ahmed El Wakil said: “Vietnam and Egypt have a close friendship. The two countries need to strengthen their partnership in addressing regional and global issues, particularly in trade and economy. Given global uncertainties caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and disruption of the supply chain, the two nations should make a joint effort to increase their trade turnover to 1 billion USD.”
The two agreed to organize exchanges between trade organizations to boost bilateral economic and trade ties.
