(VOVworld) - Vietnam has been elected to the UNESCO Executive Committee with a high vote support of 156. Foreign Ministry spokesman Le Hai Binh told the press on Thursday that this reflected international support and acknowledgment of Vietnam’s contribution to the UN Agency.
This was the 4th time Vietnam was elected to the UN body, which is in charge of UNESCO’s budget and programs.
Regarding clashes of Vietnamese workers in Algeria, the spokesman said the Vietnamese Embassy in Algeria has cooperated with the workers’ agent to move the Vietnamese workers to other construction site.
Relevant bodies have discussed solutions regarding wages, place of work and legitimate interests of the Vietnamese workers.
