Addressing the event, Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyen Minh Vu said Vietnam-EU relations are growing and bearing fruit. Calling the relationship “a model of cooperation for peace”, he expressed his hope that it will expand and deepen in the years ahead.

Mr. Vu urged EU countries to ratify the EU-Vietnam Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA) and effectively implement the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA), two breakthroughs in trade and investment cooperation.

He called on the EU to provide development assistance for Vietnam in the 2024-2027 period, lift the yellow card imposed by the European Commission on Vietnam's seafood exports, and continue to cooperate with and support Vietnam in implementing the Resource Mobilization Plan within the framework of the Just Energy Transition Partnership to achieve the goal of net-zero emissions by 2050.

Ambassador Julien Guerrier, head of the EU Delegation to Vietnam, praised Vietnam-EU cooperative relations, saying that for 35 years, the EU has stood shoulder to shoulder with Vietnam. He said the EU intends to help Vietnam achieve its national development goals by 2045 and its net-zero commitment.
