The Deputy PM asked Chairman Lange to urge the 10 remaining EU members to ratify the EU-Vietnam. Investment Protection Agreement in the interest of mutually beneficial investment ties.
He also asked his guest to help persuade the European Commission to remove its yellow card on Vietnamese seafood exports in recognition of Vietnam’s efforts to stop illegal, unreported, and unregulated (IUU) fishing.
Mr. Lange said Vietnam and the EU enjoy stable relations and sound cooperation in multiple areas, so they should continue developing this relationship.
He praised Vietnam’s recent efforts to monitor fishing vessels and refine its laws.
