(VOVworld) - Vietnam Farm Expo 2015 opened in HCM City on Thursday featuring 2,000 booths which display key Vietnamese exports, including rice, tea and cashew nuts. VIETGAP- and GLOBAL GAP-certified products are also on display.

Agricultural machinery and equipment, agricultural products and services, livestock breeding, industrial chemicals and bonsai are also exhibited.

The expo aims to help agriculture enterprises and farmers find the best products and services, serve as a bridge connecting local exporters with foreign importers, and promote the application of science and technology in agriculture production.

Phan Minh Son, head of the processing and rural careers section of the Rural Development Branch of Lam Dong province, said that they “have 5 booths and have provided support to enterprises, cooperatives, and craft villages wanting to participate in trade fairs to introduce their products. Such events are one of the best ways to reduce costs and eliminate the middleman in marketing farm produce”.

The trade fair will run through next Monday.
