(VOV) - With 18 gold and 2 bronze medals Vietnam has secured its first place at the July 7 conclusion of the World Vovinam Championships in Paris, France. This is the third consecutive year Vietnam has finished overall champions. Their French hosts ranked second with 9 gold, 7 silver, and 7 bronze medals. The French team also won a style award. The tournament attracted 232 martial artists representing 24 Vovinam federations in many countries around the world. The fourth World Vovinam Championships will be held in Algeria.
