(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam strongly supports efforts by the International Organisation of La Francophonie (OIF) to promote economic cooperation and connect businesses in French-speaking countries.

As an active and responsible member of the OIF, Vietnam will keep actively joining these efforts. In his address at the Vietnam - Francophonie high-level economic forum which opened in Hanoi on Thursday, Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Pham Binh Minh said over the years, Vietnam has worked closely with developing countries including many Francophonie members and developed countries to exploit the South-South cooperation and tripartite cooperation, particularly in agriculture. As one of the countries hardest hit by climate change and extreme weather, Vietnam is drastically shifting to a green and circular economy.
In addition to climate change response, green growth, and modern, transparent, responsible and sustainable agriculture, digital transformation is a big global trend and a primary task of the Vietnamese government, said Mr. Minh.

The Deputy Prime Minister added the Vietnamese government has adopted a national digital transformation program until 2025 and orientation toward 2030 with 3 main pillars of digital economy, digital society, and digital government.
He urged Francophonie and Vietnamese businesses to seize opportunities to promote sustainable partnerships in various aspects.
On this occasion, the Vietnamese Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Gabonese Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Food exchanged a letter of intent and a memorandum of understanding on cooperation. The Vietnam Tea Association and the Rwandese Federation of Tea Growers exchanged a letter of intent on cooperation.
