Vietnam hailed for deliberate preparations for AIPA 41
(VOVWORLD) - The Vietnamese National Assembly, as President of the 41st ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA 41), has deliberately prepared for the event next week, leaving good impression and winning trust of international friends.

In an interview with Vietnam News Agency, AIPA Secretary-General Nguyen Tuong Van said the theme “Parliamentary diplomacy for a cohesive and proactive ASEAN Community” closely supports the theme of the ASEAN Chairmanship 2020 “Cohesive and Responsive”, which is highly advocated by ASEAN members. It follows up regionally acknowledged Vietnam’s initiatives.
AIPA 41 will seek to recruit several partner countries as AIPA observers, hold a meeting between ASEAN Secretary General and parliaments of member states to review AIPA-ASEAN cooperation, and revise AIPA regulations.
AIPA Secretary-General Van said she considers AIPA 41 an opportunity for ASEAN parliamentarians to review achievements and challenges; solidify their cooperation, cohesion, and diversity; and work more closely together to address regional and global threats.
