(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam has a strict regulatory system to fight illegal arms trafficking, said Ambassador Dang Hoang Giang, Head of the Permanent Delegation of Vietnam to the United Nations (UN).

At the 4th review conference on implementation of the UN Program of Action on Small Arms and Light Weapons and its International Tracing Instrument in New York on Tuesday, Giang highlighted Vietnam's commitment, measures, and experience in strictly managing weapons.
The Ambassador emphasized the importance of international cooperation and shared positive cooperation experiences between Vietnam and partner countries in controlling borders and preventing transnational crimes.
The 10-day conference reviewed the implementation of the program in the 2018-2024 period and suggested ways to strengthen international cooperation in implementing commitments during the 2024-2030 period.
